I don't know about it being "Techno" - but Nightwish made a nice piece based (mainly) on the overture to Phantom of the Opera.

I really liked it.. and it wasn't too bad. A lot of people agree - they were afraid they'd completely "murder" it.

Not only did I like it, but I went to listen to the overture from the original... man, organ city! =xoD
