The HI Guy
We were at the "Miracle on 34th Street" play on the fifth and just before it starts I see my Aunt Judy a couple rows back. She waves so I wave and say hi, at that exact moment some stranger walks by and thinks I'm talking to him. He pauses thinks then says a very enthusiastic "Hi!" I go along with it ( trying not to make a fool of myself). I say hi back. "How ya doin'" the stranger replies. Of course I say fine and he says see ya later and as soon as he turns and walks away my Dad and I just start cracking up! We figure there are 3 things that he thought at that moment:
1. He thought we were talking to him and didn't remember us.
2. He thought I was mentally ill and was afraid to ignore me.
3. He thought we were talking to him but by the time he said hi he realized our hi was not directed to him.
