So far, this is the best movie I have seen for this summer.Really high words, right? I was honestly afraid that Michael Bay was going to turn this into a total cheesefest, but it isn't. So thumbs up to you, Mr. Bay!
Of course, I still have bad things to say about it. The movie is good for what it is. I don't think it's going to win any awards except in 3D CG and animation. My one huge problem with the movie is that there was way way WAY too many subliminal marketing.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!
THERE WAS A FUCKING MOUNTAIN DEW BOT. I understand that the robots would be American cars, but FREAKIN WTF?!!??!?!!? MOUNTAIN DEW BOT?! God, Michael. DON'T WHORE IT OUT!
END SPOILER
The good thing is that the movie doesn't take itself too seriously. Michael and Steven know that the original content wasn't a complete serious awesomefest, and that there were a few...no no...lots of corny parts. It was a children's television show. So, instead of making it all super serious, there are a lot of self referential jokes. ("These robots look Japaneses." Lol)Overall, I think it was a very good movie. Now to watch:
1. Ratatoullie
2. Pirates 3
3. ....ummmm anything else that's good I guess.
