I finally bottled the cherry stout that I brewed back in
January.
It was a little messy, because the spring-activated valve that controls the actual flow into the bottles failed. Some of the brew ended up on the floor.
mia_mcdavid came to the rescue by handing me a pair of pliers which I could then use as a hose clamp.
The final gravity was rather high (1.020), but that measurement is high--I mistakenly had already added the priming sugar (5 oz.). Also the initial gravity was high (
1.057), so I apparently just had a lot of non-fermentables. I tasted a little of it and it seems more than OK, so I am not going to worry about it.
