I was never really into the game of marbles.... actually.. i never learned how to play.. still havent... and most likely.. i never will. But I remember Grandma's Marble Tin in the house in Keansburg. A big Red Tin can looking thing, that had been in the family for years. I LOVED playing with those Marbles!!!! There had to be about 600 or so in that cannister... all different colors, and sizes..... Black ones Green Cats-eyes looking ones.... large clear ones, purple, blue.... I remember how cold they were when you first opened the can.. and how HEAVY the cannister was. I would fight with my sister over the best ones.. some would roll under the couch... I know Some of then were probably from fancy chinese checkers sets... My Grandfather was the king of Chinese Checkers... and beating him was rare... I remember being told my mother AND my Uncle and cousins all used to play with those old marbles, and i always thought that was pretty nifty. I guess it was around 1987 or so when they moved from that house.. and it was the last i had seen all those marbles...... Grand mom passed away about 2 years later... just before i started high school. I think ill ask my mother where they went... I find it hard to believe my grandparents had lost their Marbles.
Today was an EASY day...For a change. No...... I DIDN'T make it to the gym.... i had to run errands at lunch time.. including mailing my rent and getting to the bank. I'm almost all caught up at work.. which is a good thing... and
I think we are close to figuring out the solution to our competition beating us for business. We need to start getting Results... approvals.... and that falls on My shoulders.... but i think we are on the right track now, so i feel better. I didn't see Beverly Much today.. Another good thing.. I started my work fast and had a little time to dilly dally for a bit.. to win a bet with Ana over how Harry Houdini died. I had Subway 6 grams or less for lunch... vinagrette club thingie.. was delicious and I think ill have it again soon :) Except I'm not too thrilled how those Subway workers work... They dont really seem to know how to make the subs.... beginners......... Evidently.... when ordering you have to know what makes it low fat and have them make it that way piece by piece... which is tough when they dont speak english too well.
I got Home on time tonight.. Which means 2 days in a row.. it has to be some sort of record. I decided i was gonna take myself to see that Club Dread Movie. I had asked Ed if he wanted to Go.. My treat. He said yes.... then a half hour later. asked if he could invite Eileen.. Which was Absolutely fine with me. We Jammed For a while... doing a terrible Duet on the Keyboard and Guitar.. Well not terrible.... but im not exactly a "Rock Star" yet.. though our summer of 69 sounded cool.. as well as comfortably numb. After The jam he got on the phone with Eileen then told me he wasn't going, because she was feeling sick and they were gonna hang in (Thumbs Down). I was Ticked... but whatever. I decided i was gonna hold off till tomorrow or so. THEN, he got another phone call.... was The Girl he cheated on Eileen with. She wanted him to go out, so he comes to ME and asks if i could loan him 20 bucks!!!! LIKE HELL!!! He Stood Me up to stay home with his sick "GirlFriend", and then wants to bum money off of me so he can stand me up with some bar floozy instead. I wasn't thrilled with that, for 1)Because we made plans, and 2)Because its a Scummy thing to do to Eileen. I guess I shouldn't care about #2.... Eileen KNOWS that Ed's a cheat.... and is too scared and has too low of a self esteem to tell him to F-off. OH Well... Its not my place to give a damn anywho, as long as he can pay his bills at the end of the month, everything is just Terrific.
