Sim_Scenes!
Typical - you wait all year for a sim_scenes prompt to inspire you, then 51 come along all at once!
Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration but I did get inspired by some of the prompts that got reposted this week for the sim_scenes Weekly Challenge. So far I've come up with response for 4 of the prompts, all using the Mertons so they kinda relate to one another. There may be more to come.
READING - ENTHRALLED - CULTURE
GETTING LOST - AWE - KNOWLEDGE
VIDEO GAME - EXASPERATION - ACTIVE
STORYTELLING - RELIEF - WITCHCRAFT
Basically in the first one Ross and Kaylynn are on their honeymoon and pregnant. When they arrive in the Takemizu Village Ross, ever the knowledge sim, wants to explore but Kaylynn just wants to catch up on her READING. He convinces her to come with him and the two of them get ENTHRALLED by the local CULTURE.
The second one's from a little later in their honeymoon. Ross and Kaylynn decide to explore a little further afield this time, but end up GETTING LOST. They eventually come across a pagoda, which they in AWE of the beauty of. There they meet a old man who, after they demonstrate their KNOWLEGDE of the local culture he tell them the Dragon Legend and then points them back to the village.
The third takes place years later, after the children they're pregnant with are born. Ross (alien) and Ivan (vampire) are playing SSX3 (VIDEO GAME). Ross happens to know the cheat codes so he keeps winning. Knowing the playing field isn't level, Ivan gives up in EXASPERATION. He heads upstairs and begins working out with the punching bag (ACTIVE).
The final scene takes place the same night. Todd and Ivan's little sister Amelia reads their littlest brother Galahad a bedtime story (STORYTELLING) about two warlok's, played by Todd and Ivan, duelling (WITCHCRAFT). He gets really into the story and is RELIEVED to find out the good warlok wins in the end.
