In this next installment of Roy's See the World in 14609.6 Days World Tour, I depart Bangor Int'l Airport (BGR) at 6:40 AM on the 31st of January, accompanied by Momma Gott, connecting through Philadelphia, and landing in Montego Bay at 1:58 PM. Unfortunately, time constraints limit my stay in the veritable tropical paradise (with slight druglordish overtones) to a mere seven days. Fortunately, Jamaica will not cease to exist after my visit, barring some global catastrophe, that is.
I am writing this entry, not because I have anything particularly useful to say, but rather just to inform you of my whereabouts in case some lunatic fringe religious fanatic group decides to assume control of the aircraft and make a political statement by diving mercilessly into particularly large stand of palm trees.
Regarding life to date -
The Store: Progressing, though slowly. My mother is working on mudding and taping the sheetrock downstairs. I am currently moving into the ductwork phase of construction.
The Car: Sable is approximately 2 days from completion. This is wonderful news because the gas mileage in the Milan is not all that I had hoped it would be. On the upper hand, though, the Milan is a veritable beast in the snow.
The Book: Specifically, the second book. I have "completed" four chapters, taking the draft a litte ways over 110 pages. It is progressing slowly, but I am quite enjoying this process. At the present time, no one is dying or otherwise perilously miserable. It is thus far, a bit lighter in tone than its predecessor.
The Job: My boss is looking to open another location for those who missed the memo, and hopefully he finds one while I'm away. I would be transferring to that location to manage. Fun times.
The Cat: On my pillow right now, clueless as to the fact that he's going camping at my aunt's house for a week.
The Suitcase: Conspicuously not completely packed - I'd better get back to that.
