I've finally slowed down enough at work, so I can do a post. I like it busy, but man, it would be nice if it were spread out a little.
kids:
Michelle is painting her room red, then she wants to paint all the furniture black, and then get a black sharpie and have her friends do grafiti all over the walls. If nothing else it's keeping her busy, and me broke!
Colleen is going from Fairview to Edmonton next week. She is bored in Fairview, so she's going to do a stop over in Edmonton and visit the BFINWW, some cousins, and maybe an uncle.
Meghan is excited about going back to the stables tomorrow. She hasn't been riding for the last month, and really misses it.
Andy graduates today from Elementary school. He's done really well this year, except for the anger issues.
Emily is doing great in school, and is looking forward to a summer of camping events in the SCA.
Scholars:
My projects are getting done!!!!
1)I've finished potting my pitcher. My people on it are much fatter, and shorter, but I'm happy with it.
2)TJ's garb has to have the under tunic hemmed and the neck finished, then just the application on the surcoat of the gold stuff
3)card weaving is finished.
4) Dying, haven't started, but Byzantine lady has given me a cup of saffron, that I'm excited to use. And I think we are going to send an order to Dharma, so I'm going to get some woad, indigo, etc from there....whatever they have for natural dyes....
5) Cooking pine nut candy. I have the recipe, I just have to make it.
6) Illumination - all done, mostly documented
7) paper: I have been collecting picture of illumination through out the time period that I am looking at. But haven't started writing it.
Then I just have to get the documentation done. I think I'm going to finish first, then start working on it. I've done enough to know that it's all period, I just have to do things like research what the period techniques were for potting, and glazing. (mostly lead...didn't use that!).
I still need to get the heraldry and dance for SYG, I wonder if I'll have time with the pottery course happening......
PS.... I love the wheel..... I think I may need one, and a kiln....anyone know anyone???
