Bars on Parade
I just got back from a night of bar-sight-seeing with my buddy Will. Modern Music Theory grad student and Indie rock snob. He's great.
Tried to go to a show, but apparently it wasn't happening, so on to other adventures.
Went to the Church Brewworks. Yes, this is a huge church, with microbrewery on the alter. Ordered a Heifewiesen and a southwest pizza. Yum.
Went to "The Best Polish Restaurant in Little Italy". Dive bar. Ordered Polish beers. Stood outside with all the uber-hip dirty bike-sters. Thank god I dressed kinda hip. Felt simultaneously cool and soo uncool by comparison. Maybe it's cuz I showered that day.
Over to Southside to see the yadood collegey bars. Typical. Walked up and down the strip without really going in anywhere, too many girls with bleached hair and motorcycle dudes cruising to compensate. It was interesting to experience, though.
Drove home, had a LIT sing-a-long that flashed us back to 10th grade.
Got a few things checked off my "ToDo in Pittsburgh" list, and had a fun night out and about.
