Ahab is magnificent. He is magnificent in his rage and in his desperation, in his single minded, monomaniacal devotion to one goal. I don't doubt he will be my Sydney Carton for Moby Dick.
Other things: I got accepted officially into the ATAD program. This means I am officially going to be living in France this summer for six weeks. I am beyond excited. A little scared, but jesus, what could be better?
Today we left school so that Jazz Ensemble could preform for the kids at SouthLawn. They were small and very cute. I played pretty well--it was fun, actually. Usually I don't really enjoy concerts but this one I did.
I'm going to be visiting colleges over February break. It stresses me out and I don't like thinking about it. Dana keeps reminding (pestering?) me to look up the routes and what days I'll be visiting what and scheduling tours/visits to classes. It's ironic that last year all I thought about was college (and I suppose that hasn't really changed) but now that it's actually happening, and I'm actually visiting them and actually taking the SATs, and actually talking to my counselor at school about college, I don't want to think about it.
Layout was this past weekend--the paper should come out early next week. I'm excited to see it.
Alec's birthday was yesterday. He is 19 now.
I'm tutoring this guy in French now every other day. He's in French 3...he's nice, I think. He just has a lot of trouble with French...I really hope I can help him pass the regents. I'm worried for him. It's hard to help someone with more advanced things when they don't know the basics...he gets faire/avoir/etre/aller confused. It's not good.
I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. Not anything serious, though--but it was annoying me. I won't get that much cut off.
Last night I got 8 1/2 hours of sleep. This is notable. However, I'm still tired. But I woke up this morning and felt...good. It was nice. I mourn its rarity.
Looking at Tootoo worries me.
I guess that's an update of my life right now. Oh, report cards came too. Mine was okay. I got an 88 for the quarter in Physics (82 on the midterm) which was unfortunate, but aside from that it was fine. Yeah..that's it.
