Well, what do you know.
I just got back from a week trip back to California I didn't realize I would enjoy as much as I did until I was there. I spent the week with family and visiting old friends from high school, catching up on where they are in their lives and where I am in mine. My old class president (a girl also in my girl scout troop many moons back) is working at Hooters... That was delicious.
I let one of my friends know she can always come to me, that she can always talk to me, that I will never belittle her or judge her. I had to let her know this one night until 4:30 in the morning one night... I had to let her know these things because she's been in an abusive relationship since high school with another boy I went there with. I let her know the plan. If he hits her again, she's disappearing. Poof. Gone. He'll never find her, and my friend will get away.
I found out about two other school acquaintances run in with cocaine addictions and how they thought it was time to quit after being kidnapped and pistol whipped for 4 days by their drug dealer because he was missing $7K he thought they took. Good to know they're clean now... But still...wow.
Saw Teague...which was cool :) He even drove all the way out to the boondocks to see me a second day for more than an hour. My friend Sarah even drove down from Santa Barbara to visit. Also, Angela and I saw The Simpsons' Movie on my treat. And did much swimming at her place.
So, I slept and relaxed and had fun and came back...
Yesterday I had a 12 hour shoot for MTN at Minnihaha Park (If you've never been there, go! The fall's are BEAUTIFUL!) for the 9th annual Jazz Freedom Festival. I was camera 1 and camera 2 most of the time and did pretty well I think. Today, I have a 4 hour puppet workshop with some ol' Muppeteers I'm looking forward to. I start school the 27th and have secured the last bit of my funding for school...
I still have to finish my TAC interview for Sheanon, so that'll probably be tonight.
