This weekend I came home for fall break. I hung out with Ashley a little bit and it felt amazing. I have missed her so much. Alison too, but I haven't gotten to see her yet.
Ashley sent me a picture of her station at her work with pictures of me and Alison up. I started to cry. Lately, I've felt like we've just sort of forgotten about eachother. But seeing that she has pictures of us up made me realize that we can't forget about eachother, even if we are two hours away from eachother. I've been through so much with those girls in the 10 and 13 years I've known them. I believe in soulmates. And I believe you have soulmates for romance and soulmates for friendship. And I believe Ash and Alison are my soulmates.
I may have found my other soulmate also, but I won't be able to really figure that out until he comes home from the war. Andrew and I dated 2 years ago. He left for his station in January. He left for Iraq in May. In all that time, not to mention all that distance, we are still best friends. We have had serious conversations about being together in the future after he comes home and gets out of the army. He's not one to commit easily, and really neither am I. But after two years, I still love him and I still want to be with him. He's all the way in Iraq, he's been there for about 5 months now, and he has told me that he wants to move in together and maybe start a whole life together. He has even told his friends about this, which leads me to believe that he's being completely serious. And I could not be happier.
He sent me a text message a little bit ago saying goodnight and he loves and misses me. I began to cry again. I've been crying off and on all night long. They are very good cries though.
At school, I stand outside sometimes, just smoking and looking around and thinking. I think to myself that my life is pretty damn fuckign good right now. School isn't bad at all. Atleast not yet. But I'm taking it one day at a time, one minute at a time. And I try to apply that to my whole life: just one day at a time. And ever since I've adopted this theory, my life has been incredible. I'm not dwelling on my past anymore. I'm living in the present, but looking forward to and SO EXCITED for the future. I AM afraid that something bad will happen and all this happiness will crash, but to keep my sanity, I can't think about that.
I'm genuinely happy with my circumstances. Though the people I love most in my life are so far away, I feel that they are meant to be in my life and if they are then it will stay that way.
