Experiments in LJ-Cut Policy

It has been brought to our attention via the suggestions post that the grand_line_vine newsletter is rather long, even though we cut after the first 15 items.

Well, we're going to try some things to help alleviate that. This week we are cutting after the first 10 items, which reduces the length by 20 lines. That's a goodly bit.

Next week we will have a poll asking our readers how they feel about 15-cut, 10-cut, or whole-cut, which is also under consideration.

For now, please bear with us. We will post more information, ideas, and discussion here, and next week y'all get to yell at us via poll. Thanks for sticking with us this far!

Update: Okay! Now what the editors' crazy lives have actually settled down, we will have the poll. For now, we will just ask you the questions, and then once we have collected your opinions, unsullied by our ditherings, we will explain our side of it and talk about the results.

The poll itself will be hosted in one of the editors' journals. Since the editor in chief's internet decided to DIE today, the poll is not yet available, but it should be in a couple of hours.

We're sorry for the inconvenience and hope you join us in shaping our policies for future issues!

Update Mach II: The poll is up! Please vote!
