I was very impressed with the Yacht Club diner at Butlins at Minehead - not only did they provide gluten-free toast, but they also ordered gluten-free sausages for my breakfast the following morning. So considerate :)

About the post itself, in future, could you follow the set up for posts listed in the info page, it helps people to know exactly how good they were at different aspects of gluten free issues (such as politeness regarding your needs etc.), and could you say how long ago this was?
Thank you for the content though, very useful! :)

Off the top of my head, aren't Heinz Baked Beans gluten free, or have they changed what's in the sauce?
I remember that my dad can't eat baked beans made by HP as they seem to have gluten in a lot of their stuff. He said to me recently that a lot of things that used to be marked as know to be gluten free by the Coeliacs Society aren't any more, which he thinks may in part be down to more sensitive testing assays used these days. It begs the question of how much gluten is too much for someone who is intolerant of the stuff. The answer is an imprecise "it depends," as how badly a person is affected is based on individual biochemisty, differing levels of intolerance, other things that affect your immune system, other GI-related conditions that may aggravate matters and how dilute the dose of gluten you ate was.

I like the idea of that diet that lets you find out your tolerance level, but as you said, it changes with your body chemistry. I've noticed it fluctuates drom day to day.

Well, the GI tract can be a very sensitive organ for some people, whereas other have seen to have cast iron stomachs! I'm lucky enough to have no food intolerances or allergies, although I know plenty of folk who do; I sympathise deeply and do my best not to induce any flare-ups. ;p
