Although I do claim each year that my family gives no more than half a rat's ass about Christmas, my parents usually do give us kids something (usually in the form of cold, hard cash). This year we got a photo of our parents framed in a cool clampy magnetic frame (which will find its way to my desk at work) and $5 000 HKD to blow to our little hearts' desires.
Now, shopping in Hong Kong is insane. The HKD is linked to the USD, and the CAD has been climbed over the past couple of years from $5 HKD to almost $8 HKD (it has been trading at $7.9X). Although $5 000 HKD is only about $640 CAD, I was able to buy an iPod Touch and a new cell phone! Whatwhat!
The old and the new: VAIO, Samsung U700, Dayton v2 (iPod Touch), Dayton (5th Generation iPod)
Dayton v2 and Dayton meet in iTunes
Out of the oodles of new functions on the iPod Touch, my favourite is the WiFi compatibility. I have been running around Hong Kong tapping into PCCW hot spots. (PCCW one of Hong Kong's biggest telephone and internet service providers.) Genny assures me that things will change when I get back to Canada, so I'm milking this while I can!
