I've never done so much in one weekend I don't think. When I list it all out it doesn't seem like much, but I'm so tired XD On Saturday morning I woke up at 6:30 so I could shower and be at the Children's Developmental Clinic at my college by 8:30.
The CDC is a program where people volunteer to be trained as clinicians to work with children that have special needs. These needs can vary from autism to ADHD to Down Syndrome to motor development disorders. The little girl I work with, I'll call her Amber, is 9 years old, and sweet as can be. I couldn't figure out why she was in the program last week, because she was able to do everything we asked of her. She loves the trampoline and the ropes, she reads well, she can catch and throw, etc. But today my partner, Marie, and I (she works with Amber as well, we're a team 8D) got to look at her folder. As it turns out she has a mood disorder and her teachers say she has trouble following directions and reading. I didn't see that. The mood disorder fits though, her foster mom says she has crying fits where she just needs to cool off. I haven't experienced that, but at least I know what to do. The CDC goes from 8:30 t0 12:30, but we got out early cause they were setting up for a game in the gym.
After the CDC, I was planning to meet up with friends in Bowie Town Center. We had planned to see Madea Goes to Jail, but due to a series of events, Matt and I didn't see a movie at all. I called Whitney to say I was on my way, and she told me that she and Gerg were in the theater seeing Mall Cop and were planning to sneak in to see Medea after. I didn't like that, but decided to just cross that bridge when I came to it. Matt and I went there together because my grandma was giving him a ride. We got to the theater and the line was ridiculously long. Mall cop had started about 45 minutes prior, and by the time we'd gotten tickets the movie would be over. So I called Whitney and said that Matt and I were going to get food and we'd be back when the movie was over. Medea was sold out so we didn't get to see it anyway. They got out of the movie and we all hung out at Bowie Town Center until 4 when I had to meet my mom at Claire's. We went into some stores, Matt bought me a platypus-kiwi bird-thing XD It's pink and fuzzy and I love it. I got a manga and some stuff at Claire's cause they're going out of business. I'm so sad about that D': I lovee that store, it's where I get all my accessories! What'm I gonna do when it's gonee? This economy shit sucks. Matt came home with me and stayed for dinner and awhile after. It was 7:30 when we'd dropped him off and we were coming out of 7-11 when Sam called and asked if she could spend the night cause she went to a lolita meeting in VA and found out she had no way to get home. So mom and I picked her up at around 8 and she stayed til about 9 today. I had to write a paper for health class which I did in about an hour, and we drove Sam home afterwards. It was fun to get to hang out with her for awhile. She looked like a porcelain doll in her outfit~
And now I'm going to go to bed because I'm soo tired =________=
