What TV shows should I be illegally downloading? I've already watched the Weeds S3 pre-airs, and I'm now downloading John From Cincinnati. What else can you recommend?
I have to agree with Big Love, it is truly great despite almost losing me a few times. It's been especially good lately. It ends and I just start shaking my head.
Entourage is great, though I'm sure I hated season 1 more than anyone on the planet. I was like, "who wrote this crap, John Masters?" But after a second try, the show is truly satisfying, great characters. Just start with season 2.
Flight of the Conchords is utterly amazing so far, with the exception of maybe 2 episodes, including last weeks. I think you're already up on this? You should be, it is grrreat.
This is a hard sell for you I know, but Lost can be nothing short of phenomenal at times. There were at least 2 episodes last season, including the finale, where my jaw literally dropped. It has lots of weaknesses, but the way it's scope slowly builds and builds over a season to reveal big things...it's very satisfying.
Another hard sell for you: 24. Sarah watches it on her iPod at the gym, and it keeps her locked on the treadmill for 45 solid minutes. Some seasons are better than others, but the real time aspect really translates well without the commercials and glues your attention. Yay torture.
If I didn't lose you with those, here's another you won't believe: Battlestar Galactica. The best sci-fi TV series EVER, and that means something coming from me, as you may know.
A little more your taste perhaps, The Riches. A little like Big Love, but very intriguing and fun and tense all at once. Eddie Izzard is pure genius, seriously.
And finally: PLANET EARTH. This needs to be seen on as big of a screen and in highest quality possible however. Try to get the British version with David Attenborough instead of the American version with Sigourney Weaver. These are sincerely the best nature documentaries I've ever seen, on par with Baraka for stunning visuals. Every episode makes me go, "What the fuck. Really? That exists? Un-fucking-believable."

Whoa! Thanks for the suggestions, buddy. I'm all over FOTC. Lost, I can't get into. Same with Entourage. 24, I don't dislike, but I would have to start at the beginning I think. Planet Earth IS awesome. I've seen a few episodes at my neighbor's place. Then I downloaded the entire series (w/british narration no less) and the files ended up being in some weird format. Funny you should mention Battlestar. I think about investing in that from time to time. Maybe I should. I definitely enjoyed the eps I saw with you at 6th Rd.
