I've decided to buy a sword. I want to get the bastard/demon/clock that killed my father. I wonder if they let Bayle ladies join the military, I'll have to ask some of my Feldane cousins.
Or possibly I'll buy an axe. Uncle Gentian wrote about how he felt Deirdre had popularized that weapon among the ladies of Amber. I haven't noticed a great deal of women carrying an axe and a basket, but you never can tell.
Possible problems:
1- I haven't had time to ask Valerian for my quarterly allowance, but the Xin reserve is my own stock and I should be able to make a trade or sell it to a special buyer.
2-The last time I had any special weapons training, I shot out one of the cathywhatever windows that father was so proud. Before that, I broke my rapier on the practice dummy.
3-If I trade too much of my special reserves, I'm going to have to drink the regular Bayle for the rest of the season in order to insure that I have special vintage on hand for a good occasion.
