I know I've made some stupid decisions in this past (oh, did I ever), but I think I've just made the most abysmally stupid decision of all time.
I've decided (after many, many months of deliberation) that I'm going to let the Crog rebels stay on Oban. Um, yeah. For those of you who don't know the situation, here's the low-down:
After I became Avatar, the Crog Imperium was humiliated after its defeat at the hands of Earth Coalition, and they lost many of their holdings, including Nourasia. Suffice it to say, the Crogs were NOT HAPPY at all by this turn of events, and with the death of their emperor, they began fighting amongst themselves, unable to decide whether to get their revenge on the humans who humiliated them in battle, or to recapture their "allies" the Nourasians. So, two factions emerged: those who wanted to continue with the invasion of Earth (out of vengeance), and those who wanted to reclaim their lost holdings (as the late emperor had commanded them to do).
But there is also a third faction. These "rebels" have begun to question the meaning of their existence and desire something more than violence and bloodshed. Led by the former Colonel Kratos, these Crogs seek a different way of life. They've been wandering the galaxy, with no allies and no protection. The humans and Nourasians don't trust them, and the Crogs will kill any "traitors to the Imperium" on sight.
So, I've decided to let them stay here, under my protection. I think that they can offer valuable information and insight into the Crog culture which may help us prevent an all-out war.
Or this could totally blow up in my face ...
crogs,
taking in a stray,
oban,
political intrigue,
is this a bad thing?
