Oh god ...
The Creators ... they're awake.
And they want to speak to you.
Right now!
((OOC: Future-dated to take place AFTER the Master Plot is finished. Just wanted to get this out of the way, that's all. And to have this happen before the Master Plot would be brainbreaking to Eva.))

The powers of the Avatar have been split. Never before have two Avatars ruled the galaxy in tandem.
You saw what happened during Satis' reign when a former Avatar was allowed to live.
The balance of power shifted. Great evils were committed. The Avatar suffered dearly to protect his position from the one who tried to wrest the Avatar's crown from him.
You will be making yourself vulnerable, Avatar Jordan. You risk losing sight of your responsibilities.
You will be shouldering an even heavier burden ... and you will most likely endure great suffering.
Two great beings, both wielding unlimited power ... the potential for strife and discord between you both could very well spell the end of the galaxy as we know it.
Are you willing to take responsibility for your actions, Avatar Jordan? Should Eva accept the Avatar's crown, and rule by your side, will you accept the consequences of your actions, whatever they may be?
Jordan was silent for a long time. He looked at Eva and stared into her eyes (those beautiful, exotic eyes), knowing that everything hinged on his answer.
"I understand what you're saying, Creators. And come what may, I'm prepared to accept the consequences of my actions. That is ... if Eva should choose to rule by my side ..."

...she couldn't think of this like that. That would be flippant. This wasn't just renewing vows, this was... this was leaving behind humanity for good. She'd be a nigh-immortal being, if she accepted.
"I need time," she said. "Jordan, I...." She let her voice trail off, unsure of what to say.

If you choose to renounce your claim to the Avatar's crown, you will lose your right to become Avatar forever. You will live out your natural lifespan as a mortal girl, and you will die a mortals death.
Or you may accept the Avatar's crown and willing share the burden with your husband. The mark upon your back is a symbol of your claim and an indication of your metamorphosis into an immortal being.
Once the mark has been fully realized, and the transformation complete, you will become an Avatar, like Jordan. You will never be able to return to your mortal life, and you will live for ten thousand years.
The transformation will be completed in exactly thirty Earth days, starting now. You have until that time to make a decision.
You must make a choice, Eva. There will be no alternatives.
"Thirty days ...?" Jordan said softly. "That's all?"
She has been changing from the moment you first bound your soul to hers. We have done everything in our power to slow the process down while we came to a consensus. This is all the time we can spare.

Her voice trailed off. Had they been awake all that time? Even through Canaletto's return? Oh, the bastards. How could they take that long?!
How could she come to a decision this important in so few days?

But to become Avatar? She had resolved herself, unwillingly, to the position only to prevent Kross from gaining that power. And she refused the Avatar's crown once before ...
"Are you sure?" Jordan asked. "I mean--"
We have rendered our judgment, the Creators said in unison. One by one, their bodies compressed into shining spheres of light. And now, we must return once more to our eternal slumber.
The blue orbs began to float away toward the vaulted ceiling enshrouded in darkness, just as they had done before.
When Eva has made her choice, you must be the one to carry out her sentence, for good or for ill, Avatar Jordan.
"Wait!" Jordan said, stepping forward as all but one of the orbs of light remained. "Before you go, I have one last question for you."
The final orb paused in its flight, silent.
"I asked you before, many times, about my duties as Avatar." Jordan lowered his head, eyes downcast. "You never answered my question. But I have to know: what am I supposed to do?"
The Creator did not answer.
Jordan stared upward, his face twisted in anguish. "Tell me! If you love the galaxy so much, then tell me how you would run things! Don't you care about what happens to your precious creation? I want to know what I'm supposed to do!"
Jordan's words echoed into the vast chamber and eventually grew silent. There was a long, uncomfortable silence, which seemed to last for an eternity.
Finally, the Creator spoke: We have washed our hands of our creation. We no longer possess the power to impose our will on the galaxy. The fate of Oban, of the entire galaxy, lies solely in your hands, Avatar Jordan. That is your gift and your curse: to do with our creation as you see fit. You may tend to it and allow it to grow and prosper, or you may destroy it, if that is your wish.
Jordan's mouth gaped, eyes round with shock at this revelation.
Of course, the Creator said, hovering closer to Jordan's face. We have faith that you will not let our glorious creation be destroyed. You have formed an intimate bond with Oban that few other Avatars have been able to accomplish. You have a great deal of potential, Avatar Jordan. And, perhaps, you need not rule alone ...
Jordan glanced at Eva when the Creator said that. The blue orb floated upward, toward the darkened ceiling and vanished.

She paused. "And you have a choice too. Way bigger than mine."

"All this time ..." Jordan said, staring at the floor. "The Creators never told me what to do because they wanted me to figure it out on my own. I have no limits: no one to answer to for my actions. I can do anything I want ... my conscience as my only guide."
Slowly, Jordan raised his head and stared at Eva. His eyes were filled with terror and uncertainty. Lost, like a small child who had been separated from his parents.
