(no subject)
so my saturday. maybe normal to most of y'all standards, but ya know, i'm easy to please.
anyways, i got up early to do this service project with a group we call our mentor group (basically just a group of freshman and 2 upperclassmen) and we went to the local grocery store and dollar store and stood outside with buckets and sheets of paper with a list of cleaning supplies that they need to clean up hurricane katrina. so we got the customers to buy the items to fill the buckets. i think we probably fill about 40 buckets in 3 hours. i was impressed. and it was outside of my comfort zone to go that, so i was also impressed with myself.
so after that the four girls in the group went to the guys soccer game, which is also really not me. i'm not so much into spectating school sports, but these girls were pretty cool, and it was a nice day out that i was not going to waste inside.
AND i've finally seen dirty dancing, havana nights. it was pretty cool, but not as good as the first one, probably because it's always more fun to watch movies with my lodge family, but it was still a pretty good movie.
i went swing dancing. yep. i have absolutely no coordination, but i figured i had nothing better to do. i danced with this really nice boy, who, like everyone else i know, is named john.
i've now finally visited the guys dorms here. and i'm glad i live over here. it's so incredibly loud on their floors and while thier rooms are nicer, eh, i'm happy in my hall. :) oh, and i watched bourne supremacy there, not my kind of movie, but it was ok.
yep, that was my saturday. i enjoyed it. and now i'm off to try out a new church. i realllly hope this one's good, cuz last week's was a little bit of a dud. and i need a soundboard.
