going back East for holiday season.

Guess what? I will be in the state of Virginia from December 18th-25th. I will be mostly in the Virginia Beach area, with one or two days in Richmond. I fly into Richmond at 9am. Yes I am leaving on Christmas day. I have a job and life I have to come back to. I can't spend oodles of times back East. But it is a week. Aren't you excited? It will be 11 months since I have left the state. Gosh, time has flown by....it feels like yesterday I moved here.

I want to see ALL OF YOU! I'm not joking. I need some creative energy in my life. Okay, here is what I have been doing for 11 months.....

I worked for an awful crappy company called The Marketing Group. But I was desperate and had no money, but I did meet my really great friend, Theresa, because of that company. She has been a huge part of my support network here on the West Coast. She is a fabulous person and I'm so thankful for having her my life. This job took up ALL of my time. I lived in Oakland in a sublet where I had to be scent/fragrance free. There are people out here who are allergic to scent. That is hard, since all of my clothes were "contaminated."

I then lived in the mission in another sublet for a month with Theresa. I quit the Marketing Group, and got a job at Peet's coffee and Tea. I worked the 4am opening shift and was able to take an acting class. It was an interesting experience, but I didn't learn that much from it. Most of the students were beginners, and I mean their first class ever. I moved from the mission to Treasure Island, which is the most horrible place on earth. But has the cheapest rents. I wouldn't only recommend living there if you had a car.

I couldn't take the Peet's crazy working style any longer, and luckily Dawn got promoted at the same time, and I applied for her old position at MyNewPlace.com. and I got it!

I love my job, I love my company. I've been working there since July now. I can afford my life here now in San Francisco! I'm a Client Services Rep and help manage large management companies portfolios. I update their information constantly, process claims, and help with whatever needs they have on our site. I have two sales rep's accounts I take care of, so I stay busy. But I love it. I get to work from 6am-2:30pm. You might think that is crazy, but that gives me plenty of free time in the afternoon to go do things if I want.

Oh, and I finally have a real home. After living with my friend Leah Anne for two months, I finally live in my own home. It is a room in a very large 3 bedroom apartment. My room is kinda small, but I don't mind. I don't need a lot of space now. My roomies are great people. Andrew works for the San Francisco symphony, 26, fabulous interior decorator (our apartment is amazing) and gay. Darinee is Thai, 24, and a first grade teacher at a private school here. They are both fun awesome people, and I'm glad to have met them and live with them. Andrew's sister wanted to move back home to LA and she responded to my post on craigslist. So it all worked out well.

I think now I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. I love this city, even if it took me 10 months to get settled.
