[Ema has been putting this off long enough. It's time for another installment of Awkward Conversations You Never Want to Have With Your Boyfriend!

Today's episode: Spicy Tasting Candy Corn Made Me a Bit Easy, Oops.

As such, she'll be calling Klavier on the phone first to make sure he's available and willing to talk to her.]

[ SO!

Guess who has kinda been avoiding you? Hint, he's blonde and German. But most Germans are blonde so maybe that doesn't reveal his identity...

ANYWAY, for a moment he really does consider if he should just... ignore the phonecall. ]

... Ja, I'm free.

[That's okay, she's kind of been avoiding you, too!

Until now.]

We... we should meet, then.

... Sure. [ Not sounding very excited by this. ]

[His tone gives her pause. Does he already know somehow? Or had Schuldig done something to him after all?

Either way, this won't be good.]

I'll see you soon. [She hangs up and heads over, although she knocks on the door instead of letting herself in.]

[ When she arrives, Klavier heads to the door but stops in front of it to think about this matter for a moment. He still can't believe how he didn't have any control over the situation and Schuldig had managed to make a real fool out of the blonde.

Sighing, but after a few minutes, Klavier finally opens the door and tries to give his best fake smile to Ema, but he quite quickly realises she would just see through him and the smile turns into something that was just forced on his face. ]

Hallo, Fräulein.

[Ema can't even manage that much. She looks up at him briefly, but quickly averts her gaze; she can't look him in the eye.]

Hi, Klavier.

[ He steps aside to let her in, glancing away as well when he sees her avert her gaze. ]

Come on in. Would you like something to drink?

[Ema shakes her head, eyes to the floor as she enters the house.] No, thanks.

Listen... [Oh god, how do you even start a conversation like this?] We should probably talk about the other day, with the candy and the nurse uniforms and the... behavior...

[ As soon as she enters, Klavier closes the door behind her and turns his back to her in order to lead them to the living room, but as Ema decided not to dawdle with the matter for long, he immediately stops. He glances at her over his shoulder, wondering for a while if she already knew what happened between him and Schuldig... ]

... It wasn't our fault.

..."Our" fault?

[She thought so. Somehow, the confirmation makes her feel a bit better.

But not much.]

Still. I feel terrible about it, Klavier.

[ He lifts his hand up to twirl some hair around his fingers, his usual behaviour now seeming more edgy rather than just some relaxed playing with the hair. He still refuses to turn around to face Ema properly again, but nevertheless continues to look at her over his shoulder.

He closes his eyes, biting his lower lip whilst he slides his fingers through his hair, breaking his charasteristic drill hair at the same time. The hand stays on the side of his head, as the German finally turns to look at her properly, the look on his face a mix of shame and guilt. ]

... I do, too.

[Ema forces herself to look at him, her expression matching his almost exactly.]

I'm so, so sorry.

If Schuldig or some guy named Gilgamesh start harassing you about what I did with them, just... ignore them. Please.

[ Klavier tenses momentarily when he hears the mention of Schuldig's. He knows he has to bite the bullet; if he doesn't tell the truth now, Schuldig would probably tell the truth to Ema eventually. ]

I... [ He begins, but right away pauses. Again, his gaze wanders away from Ema, his hand tensing and grabbing his hair momentarily before moving to his forehead and from there in front of mouth, where it stays for a moment as the man stands there frowning. Eventually, the hand drops down, clenching to a fist on his side. ] ... I made out with Schuldig.

[Ema blinks at him for several moments before bursting into laughter. It's the kind of insanely inappropriate laughter that comes during uncomfortable moments like these, where there is honestly no other way to react otherwise. She's straddling the line between laughing and sobbing, really.

The laughter is short lived, however, and she quickly sobers and replies: ]

So did I. And I did worse with Gilgamesh.

[She waits for judgment over that last sentence.]

[ Klavier closes his eyes again and waits for the laughter to suppress a bit before opening them again. Definitely not helping here, Ema, like his pride wasn't down enough already.

Now he mostly looks unamused by this, not because of her making out with other men, but because of the laughter because nngh, manly pride! But he knows she didn't do it on purpose, but still. ]

How much worse?

[The laugh is more an expression of her own pain than a slight on you, Klavier. :( There might even be tears starting to form in her eyes.

At the question, she shrinks back and lowers her gaze back down to the floor. As miserable as the Schuldig thing is, it's not her primary source of guilt. When she speaks, her voice is small.]

I slept with him.

[And she remains there, hanging her head, ready for whatever reaction might come.]
