Our Celtic Trinity: Part 1

Oct 09, 2010 22:41

Aedan Donaghue, age twenty-two, had just graduated from college with his bachelors in psychology. He was starting his own business, at his mother’s request, and had a few clients lined up already. By “a few”, he had two. Both friends of his mother’s.

He couldn’t complain too much, he supposed, as he looked over Megan D’s list of personality quirks. She wasn’t all that bad, for a first client. Just really…normal.

He was hoping to find someone a little, well, not normal to help. It wasn’t that he thought everyone in the world should be ‘normal’, but that if they were a little, so to say, screwy he could help them not be so screwy.

When Aedan asked for trouble, it seemed the Gods were willing to comply.  “Hey,” came a voice to Aedan’s right. The red head looked up with a start, bright green eyes widening ever so slightly. Not many people came to this park, much less this late. He had been under the impression that he would be alone for the next couple of hours.

“It’s a nice evening, isn’t it?” the man asked, a small smirk spreading up his lips.

Aedan nodded numbly. Where had this man come from? Hadn’t he just been alone? “It, it is,” was all the answer he could come up with. Something about this man threw off his balance; Aedan couldn’t think straight all of a sudden.

He leaned on the swing’s frame, bringing himself closer to the young red head.  “What are you doing out here?”  He seemed to already know the answer to his question, yet asked anyway.

Aedan’s hand absently and self-consciously brushed against the pages of the notebook on his lap. “Just, going over my notes. I’m, uh, a psychiatrist. My office is just up the street.”

"A psychiatrist?  Really?"  He didn’t exactly seem to be doubting Aedan, just curious.  Overly curious.

"Yeah. I just started out last year, but I've got good teachers and good backing."

The man nodded absently as he considered for a moment, perhaps arriving at some interesting conclusion. His next question was a little more sudden, and had a curious darker tilt to it.  "Can I make an appointment?"

"...You need help?" Aedan watched the dark haired man come closer, feeling something strange in his gut. Something about this man felt...predatory. Perhaps it was the hungry look in his gaze. Aedan could not tell.

"Who doesn't?"  He paused for the briefest of moments, smiling.  “I’m Lugh, by the way.”

"Aedan, I’m Aedan Donaghue." He ruffled through the pages in his notebook until he came out with a spare business card. Lugh’s brow raised curiously and he languidly held out a hand to take the card. Uncertain as to why he was taking a client like...this, Aedan laid it in the man’s palm. A jolt went through his gut when their fingers brushed and he could not help but blush darkly.

Aedan noticed the man's growing smirk then. Perhaps this was a bad idea, but it had already been done and there was no going back. He had a duty to help people who needed him--that was his job, right?

"I'll be calling you soon," he promised. Aedan had no doubt in his mind that the man would.

“T-talk to you soon.”

What was he getting into?

OMAKE!

Author's note: This is a massive story, one that will be going on between me (Teru) and Jess for awhile to come. We will alternate between posting in our respective journals--more or less because we can. You have, no doubt, seen my teasers on DeviantART  and through my 100 Themes Challenge. Now you will see the full scale story unfold. Bwa ha ha.

Aedan is, if you don't know by now, a Luts Senior Delf Summery '09 with custom face-up by me. His wig is a Monique, his clothes by Dollmore (shoes & shirt) and DoD (pants). I made his rosary.

Lugh is a Dollshe Hound Version 2 with a custom face-up and blushing (do not know the artist, sorry). His wig is a Thereif, his clothes by Nine9 Style (pants), BlueBlood Doll (shoes), and unknown (shirt). His necklace was custom (Jess).

Swing-set was a lucky antique find. Tee hee.
Pencil and notebook were lucky finds around the house. 'Business' card was hand-made (and lazy) by me and Jess. Bwa ha. Ha.

To be continued...

aedan, lugh
