hiked chocorua this weekend!
twas awesome and awesomer. Went with K, who is a great hiking companion. Especially when it comes to the white mountains because he knows them all inside and out.
My back feels fine. I had some tinges of sciatica on the way up the disappeared 1/2 mile into the hike, and twinges in the other foot on the way down, and mild tinglies that evening. Other than that NOTHING. Rock.
I will try to update with pictures in the future. but for now all I can do is post links.
We hiked the liberty trail, it would be in better condition than the brook trail given all the rain, and was closer to where we were driving. Piper was on the north side, and meant another hour of driving.
LIBERTY TRAIL Twas a good time. Couldn't have lucked out better with weather considering this was planned three weeks in advance. 70's, light wind, and sunny views- water vapor from everything drying made visability dimmer. We could see Washington, but not much beyond. Met many other hikers, who were for the larger part really unprepared for a hike up a real trail, let alone a trail covered in water and snow. We kept our feet mostly dry for the way up, but when the snow made mine wet on the way down I stopped billy-goating on the little rocks and just slogged through. :P
Good times were had. Looking forward to the next hike.
2 1/2 years ago I was barely walking, and was in constant pain from a herniated disc. I've been more or less diagnosed with DDD because all my lumbar are in sad condition. I am happy that I have been able to recover my back health this much. :) Looking forward to many years of my favorite activity ever- hiking.
