People never listen, even when it's important. If you do not sever yourself from such feelings the guilt will crush you.
They chose their path, and there's nobody to blame but themselves.

They were weak, and attempted to fight when they should have run. Their fate is their own decision. You did what you felt you needed to, however they got themselves killed anyway.
This is why the weak are a waste of time, little one. There's nothing you can do to save them.
