The things I want to remember....

My French-Canadian Fiddle Tunes class is FIVE sessions not four -Wahoo!
I got some knitting done and was reminded I need to be more active on Ravelry. And also found some folks to take classes with.
Good thing I didn't go to the gym on Thursday morning.
I'm changing therapists.
I got to be a math tutor, finally.
I (re)met someone I'd been hearing about for a couple of years.
I actually fell asleep during storytime with my Daddy, something that hasn't happened in quite a long time - at least he laughed.
I actually went to a company (not mine) holiday party. And the food was good.

Elsewhere, I was the belle of the ball this week for some reason and got asked to dance three times in a row by three different people. That's never happened to me before. And then I kept getting asked all night! When I got too hot I had to hide. ::: gulp :::

I also danced three West-Coasts, one with a new-to-me WC lead. The other WC lead completely flattered me by telling me she learned a particularly sexy move just for me! That got me warmed up for the new-to-me lead who still wanted to dance even after I said I generally don't WC. I may have to change my definition of myself after this particular evening...

Had a waiting-in-line-for-the-bathroom moment with someone I met years ago and who now looks totally different. Fortunately she didn't recognize me, either. It was only when we introduced ourselves that we were like hey! I know you! since we both have rather unique names. Then she led me in an East Coast! Rare gems those EC leads ... apparently we both learned as kids standing on our daddies toes.

I also managed to get a partner for both the Barn Dance and the new partner-(line)dance we learned in the lesson. Another rare occurrence as it's hard enough to get someone even for one of those!

I couldn't decide if I wanted to come home and hit the hey or finish my evening. I chose a different route home to give myself a little more time to gauge how I was feeling ... and passed the B-boy on the way down Pike! I hollered at him and he hopped in my car and we drove arond the block before determining that *he* was actually wiped from his evening and wanted to just head home. I circled around and dropped him back off at his car and continued on my way.

Bit the bullet after seeing J and getting word that it was a good crew and worth it even at this late hour. I immediately saw my favorite corset-femme and her partner. And I could have SWORN I saw Buffy-Girl prancing around in the back, but I never ran into her so who knows. Later I saw that The Cavalry had come in riding for a different team. :)

I got there just as the person I had come to see started playing. She was awfully high, awfully fast and I enjoyed standing around with the peanut gallery Statler-and-Waldorfing it over the top. I almost had as much fun watching those who were watching.

It reminded me of my early wide-eyed days when all I did was watch and take it all in. I usually go with a date so I'm "on" - either by bottoming or topping or accompanying a friend, and it was nice to be on my own and just watch others do their thing. To not be responsible, to not be participating, just to watch, to experience vicariously and unencumbered.

Another benefit was that I got to talk to a lot of people I pretty much only know peripherally. Got to really talk and connect. I feel like I know them a little better than a passing hello at a conference. I ended up walking to our cars with one who I'd never really talked to much at all before. And it was nice because she's doing things with her life that I'm searching for in mine and it gives me hope. Even though she's a little younger. (But not THAT much younger!)

Then I felt bad because I was talking her ear off and she got cold. :| I think I was still generating my own furnace from the dancing, even though it had been hours.

And I never did get to talk to the person I had come to see. :(

Then I came home and craaaaaaashed.

Seriously crashed.
