What may be terrible news everyone...

I really hope this isn't true but all Trippynet's videos seem to be blocked at lesat here in England. I have no clue who MyVideoRights are but they're utter bastards if they have blocked all those HIGNFY videos.
Anyone else seen these videos blocked or is it just me?

...oh bloody hell.

Yes, all that at my end as well.

What an evil thing to do, there's genuinely nothing wrong with those videos. Raagh!

Psst... http://www.tv-links.eu/tv-shows/Have-I-Got-News-For-You_323/
It's got a lot of eps, maybe more than Trippynet. Just have to put up with more advertising and pop-ups.
Great site for other shows as well...

Ta, but I'm fine for episodes personally, though that does look like a good site... it's just the spirit of the thing. Evil.

I only have the scandal ep and the one Paul hosts...
If we put them up they'd probably just get taken down anyway. I haven't checked any of the other HIGNFY uploaders on youtube.

I know the Brian Blessed episode got removed, although I have reuploaded it.

No idea if it was from these people or the user himself.

Is it every episode? I noticed a few days ago that certain parts of episodes were now gone.

I think it's most. I've found one or two parts that have escaped but they're not much just by themselves.
Trippy hasn't been around youtube for a while so I don't think he had much to do with it. Probably doesn't even know

It looks like there are still a few eps up if you dig a little bit.

I just found Series 18, Episode 4 by putting random episodes into the search box.

Though I suspect it will only be a matter of time before those go as well.

I found this snippet online to describe what MyVideoRights is:

"MyVideoRights.com is an online video advertising service that monitors unauthorized usage of copyrighted materials in web video. Instead of shutting down the illegal clips, the company then works with the rights-holder to earn income from the material in the form of advertising."

Perhaps trippynet's videos will return, just with advertising at the front of it? Here's hoping!!

Wellokay, advertising is fine if we get HIGNFY. Thing is, Trippy hasn't been around for ages so getting consent from them in regard to this might be hard. Either Trippy comes back and agrees or we might hear no more about it...

Trippy isn't technically the rights holder. The rights holder would be the BBC. So, I would imagine that this MyVideoRights group would be doing their negotiating with the BBC to get a way to get those videos back up on to YouTube so they can generate money for both themselves and for the Beeb.

It's a sad day indeed if there isn't a fix for it.
