25. Do you have any talismans in your kitchen? Objects that have no practical use, but you keep close while you cook to inspire and help you focus? If so, what are they? Where did you get them?

26. Do you have a cooking "uniform"? A special apron?
This I don't have. I do do a ritual cleaning of the kitchen, however, when I'm going to be doing my high-energy cooking.
27. Do you cook in silence, or with music? What kind of music? Does the genre depend on the menu?
...And when I'm doing my high-energy cooking, I have a little set of docking speakers for my iPod, and a playlist of 83 songs that are of personal resonance with me. The list includes Heart--These Dreams, Def Leppard--Pour Some Sugar On Me, The Corries--Bonnie Dundee, a handful of Beth Patterson, a South African party song I picked up on the internet, Copperhead Road (for my brewing), a Nightwish song called Amaranth (the title and chorus evoke potions-making), and many other songs that evoke either happiness, passion, confidence, magic, or a mystical altered state.
