One of the few unmitigatedly good things about yesterday (the 4th) is that it's Steve Rogers's birthday. Oh he IS what we as a country should be. And fail miserably at attaining, but that never stopped him. I think Marvel could have done him so much better than having him go out, for lack of a better term, like a punk. He died doing what he believed, but they treated him so horribly.

Well, it makes sense to me that the symbol of what America should be would be depicted as being crushed by what America is, but I know a lot of people agree with you.

Oh, I didn't say it didn't make sense. It frustrates me that how he was treated DOES make sense because reality has smothered the potential. I'm still frustrated, and that's what came across in the comment, not that I agreed with what you all were saying. Clearly, today is not a good day for the internets and me.

It'd be fine if you didn't agree, it really would. I guess what I'm saying is that I think everything happened that way because Marvel itself saw it as making a kind of sense, not necessarily because they wanted to crush Democracy's Son.

I can see that. It still makes me clutch my chest like a Victorian Heroine. I've been alternating between "OH STEVE!" and "OH BART!" for a while now.
