cathexys is looking for the source for the Joss comment that he wasn't sure whether Xander or Willow would be gay. I *suspect* it was on the old Bronze board or maybe during the post-Tara's death wank, but beyond that - and the extra-textual influence of Seth leaving - I can't help.

see, that's what i was beginning to wonder to after several google searches and asking some of the Buffy afficionados I know.

OK...digging out my DVDs...which ep would that be...is this the first time around (he does come back to visit later, right?) It's been too long...

Not sure how much help it is, but the first time I remember hearing it mentioned a lot was when the yearbook came out -- in reference to the two photos with Xander and alternately Willow and a group of cheerleaders.

But the quote could have been much earlier than that. That's just when I remember the conversation being a fairly big thing. If I remember correctly, even Alyson Hannigan said something I think about how early on Joss had her pose with cheerleaders and didn't tell her why. Heh.

I think that Battis has the actual quote in "Blood Relations" but I can't look it up 'cause I lent it to kassrachel--could you ask her?
