First off, I love what you do with the balance between Clark and Kal.
There are grottoes, darker than any Gotham alleyway, within Clark, depthless chasms that rustle and stir at that name, alive with shadowy things that Clark Kent could never name.
Oooohgh. Just... he *is* Clark Kent, but that's not all he is. I love what you say here about that.
The words come without thinking. Take you now, and feast well. Old Kryptonese knows only the imperative voice when addressing minors, animals, and slaves.
The linguistic note here made my toes curl.
staring down at him through fire.
Oh God. Terror and arousal in the same heartbeat. Kal our Alien Overlord looking out of mild-mannered Clark Kent's eyes.
I should quote more of the glory that is Lois, but I couldn't even pull out a segment; all I could do is wave my arms and squeak in joy.
In her absence, he visits the *other* genius in his life.
*Bwee* There's just... a whole essay of meta in that line.
Clark is no poet, but Lois makes him want to be one, makes him want to liken her to wine and opium, rich delicacies that wriggle on the tongue and drown his senses.
OK, here's the glory of Lois. Oh, man. I can't remember the last time I read such deliciously described cunnilingus. He's so worshipful, in a wonderful, chilling counterpart/flipside to Kon on his knees before.
She'd hit him if she knew he was praising her in these terms, thinking of orchids that tremble in the jungle canopy and tidepools at dawn, alive with emotion. Her labia plump between his teeth and the smell of her is intoxicating, indescribable.
NGUH. And also, Clark Kent likening Lois to Superman's memories. And also OMG NGUH HOT.
She snickers softly. The sound makes him think of Robin; he has to squeeze shut his eyes, just for a moment.
Bee hee Robinosexuality... OK, I'm a patheticall die-hard slasher. And my giggle is half shuddery breathing.
Two bits of canon this story made me think of, or rather, illuminated for me, are Clark's glomping of his cousin-from-home Kara-the-Supertorso, and Kon's palpable sense of betrayal at being sent to live in Smallville like an ordinary kid.
I am very glad to be in a fandom with you.
And now I need to pour cold water on my head.

the balance between Clark and Kal
Oh, yay! I get nervous about the identity spectrum, because on one end, there's identity porn, which is fun and freaksome, but on the other end, there's the fallacy that personae really are utterly separate. Clark's endlessly fascinating to me, because I really do believe he's all three figures, but *Clark* is the root and the trunk.

I need/want to do so much more with Kryptonian language stuff (with Tim and Kryptonese/-ian, actually). But a taste, I figured, would not go awry. *g*

*dances!* See, it was the sex-with-Lois where I kept stopping and getting nervous, so I'm *terribly* glad to hear that this worked for you.
And, somehow, I didn't consciously note the parallels to Kon, though they're there, since they are, really, the whole *point* of the story. Huh.
Robinosexuality... OK, I'm a patheticall die-hard slasher.
You're not alone in that. Clark/Robin(s) is just about *always* on my mind.
Clark's glomping of his cousin-from-home Kara-the-Supertorso, and Kon's palpable sense of betrayal at being sent to live in Smallville like an ordinary kid.
*nodNOD* Yes. Kara's such a problematic case for me, because - well, why didn't Bruce send *Cass* to the Amazons for a bit? Why did Clark love Kara instantly but tend to avoid Kon pretty much completely? And so on.
As for the latter bit...*yeah*. petronelle said something in her beta of the first part of this that "this is where Clark decides to send him to Smallville", and she's not wrong.
I just keep *delaying* that decision, because the move breaks my heart.
I am very glad to be in a fandom with you.
I cannot *begin* to thank you for this and tell you just how amazed and touched I was - yesterday was particularly sucky, fannishly, so to read this last night just blew me away. I'm *so* damn happy to have found DCU and this deep, snug foxhole populated by the likes of you.
Thank you.
