When I got my engagement ring, the awesome old broad that showed us the rings pointed out that it is just a ring, that you don't have to wear it for the rest of your life and you can replace it or reset it at a later point. In other words, it's the symbol and not the artifact that's important. Lots of women, for instance, get anniversary rings that they replace for their engagement ring. I often think that at some point I will want us to get new wedding bands in honor of some anniversary. So... don't agonize too much, but of course make sure you pick out something you would always want to wear!
My ring is an emerald and since switching careers, I rarely wear it. I need to have the band expanded on the wedding part. I'm actually thinking of having a tattoo ring put on instead. It's just a symbol, not the oath itself.
i think i would go nuts with a tattoo on my finger. everytime i get henna on my hands, i see it out of the corner of my eye, and go, oh, ketchup! but when i lick there is no ketchup, lol. usually i wind up scrubbing off layers of skin to get rid of it.
::LOL:: Henna on me always looks like yellow marker stain, not ketchup. For a tattoo, I'd actually want a green ink that looks like my emerald. But I'm always to indecisive to actually COMMIT to a piece of bodyart. It's amazing I got married...
oh my gosh, you've spoken to that guy? Why? Just random running into him? Eep. Also, I NEED TO HANG OUT WITH YOU SOON. I'm leaving for Maryland tomorrow though and will be there for a few days. =(
I've heard much worse stories about Gainesville, lol! My best friend had a gun held to him twice near campus....not too mention all the shootings at clubs.
But Gainesville is a nice little town. I enjoyed my year.
i miss you! if it wasnt for stupid school and my inlaws visiting, i would have already been there. call me as soon as you return!!! better yet, on the way home.
