I seriously need to stop reading stories when I know they're going to drive me up a wall. Seriously.
It's astonishing how some authors can get a character's speaking voice down absolutely note-perfect and still manage to fuck up his personality to the degree that he's unrecognizable. It causes this weird kind of disconnect in my brain and then I keep fucking reading and I can't get this lunatic OOC crap out of my head.
I'm an idiot.
And I need to go find some genfic now. At least it gets characterization wrong for the sake of the story, instead of for angsty incestuous slash.
