I would have liked Dean to throw a punch right in the middle of the diner. Especially after the small fry crack. That Sam didn't really thing about, before OR after he said it.
I'm not on the Sam train either, but I can't wait to see the fall out! Excellent story!
Gahd, you know I don't even think I could begin to try to write S6 [well so far anyhoo] Sam, with any kind of insight into WTF is going on with him and any kind of introspection. I'm at a loss as to where they are going with this, and I honestly feel that if I don't see a spark of warmth/humanity from him, like, now, I will no longer care. My well of sympathy is running dry to the extent that if/when the reveal comes I don't honestly think I will be able to bring myself to care or feel any compassion. And I am running out of patience with the fact Dean seems happy to paint welcome on his chest and lie down on the doorstep. I hope to see him being more like he is in this story ongoing
( ... )
Man, I hear you. I'm trying to be optimistic, but at this point I think the only reveal that could justify Sam's complete sociopathy is if he left his soul in Hell, or something. It's so disappointing, because one of the only things I consistently loved about S5 was watching the brothers rebuild their bond and now it's just...poof. Gone.
Doormat!Dean is starting to really get to me, too. I can't buy that he's just going to be okay with this, but I'm holding onto the hope that there will be an EPIC throwdown in the next couple of eps.
I did love BAMF Cas, though. So far, it seems like he's the only one to have a genuinely interesting storyline this season.
I'm rooting for some sort of "The Snow Queen" explanation. Or the soul thing, that would be good.(Hey, the benefit of them actually going with 'something's wrong with sam' instead of 'something might be wrong with sam' is that it implies there will be a specific cause and perhaps a specific solution).
Oh, and before I forget: I loved this. You may not be into this new weird Sam, but damn, did you ever nail him.
Oooh, the Snow Queen would be good. And one of the only things on a very short list of explanations that would make Sam's behavior both plausible and forgivable.
Thank you :) Sam's headspace is not really coming easily to me right now due to a severe case of WTF ARE YOU THINKING, so I'm glad this worked for you.
that is SO what I wanted on screen. Like, that exactly. Then they would grunt apologies at each other, bump shoulders and carry on carrying on, uneasy sure, but okay.
Not....whatever it is we're actually seeing on screen. It annoys me with its falseness.

Yeah, I'm not sure WTF Show thinks it's doing with Sam, because I'm really not on board so far...

Time was, Sam could have read his chicken-scratch handwriting at a glance, but now Dean's hand is covering it before he can make out the words.
Perhaps the best line in the whole lovely thing.
