Lovely, hon. I think Sam's decision and reasoning stink and I'm not altogether sure his motives were altruistic. But if they truly were, I hope Show does give him the chance to fully explain them and apologize - he deserves that chance to rebuild some trust with his brother. I hope they don't leave us in the dark much of the time, like they did with season 4 Sam.

I did think that moment where Dean assumed he was in Heaven because Sam was there was pretty telling… Oh, boys.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the camp that Sam's behavior represented, at the very best, an appalling lapse of judgment--but if he really did have Dean's best interest at heart, misguided as his methods were, I hope they give him a chance to explain himself, and to apologize.

Thanks for the review!

I agree totally that the most telling thing was Dean assuming he was in heaven if Sam was there.

That comment alone tells us just how stupid Sam and Bobby's decisions were. I can't find any redeeming factor in them at all. Talk about getting treated like a baby instead of a grownup!

But I loved this fic. I think it shows how Sam can explain to himself why he kept Dean in the dark. But Sam has never really understood Dean so the decision was wrong.

I actually suspect that there's something wrong with Sam that we don't yet know about, but he's always been the sort of person who thinks he has all the answers, often right in the face of opposing evidence. I definitely think he's capable of doing deeply hurtful things while telling himself all along that he's doing it for Dean's sake (hell, look at s4).

This is well written, but I'm still not buying it - mostly because of the way Sam acted when reunited with Dean. He was just so unemotional about the whole thing.

For some reason I'm having an easier time forgiving Bobby - because I think that Bobby acted for selfish reasons, and he knows he did. I think Bobby just didn't want Dean to die, and he believed that if Dean hadn't been with Lisa and Ben after Sam went into the Pit, he would have gotten himself killed on some hunt. I think he knows its not what Dean would have wanted and knows how torn up he was, he just couldn't face another death.

Sorry, this Bobby comment probably belongs somewhere else. Shutting up now.

I...actually like this interpretation of Bobby's attitude. It seems a lot more IC than him suddenly losing his brain and thinking that Dean's life was gonna be just peachy keen if they kept him in the dark.

TBH, I'm not really buying this explanation, either, and I'm the one who wrote it :P. I think there's something else going on.

Whoa, excellent!

Because Sam's decision to leave Dean in the dark is going to need a lot of justifying!

Well written. Show isn't giving us much here. You did good. I hope things turn around in this regard. And I liked the premier. It's just I hate the brothers as they are now.

I'm with you--one of the things I liked about S5 was seeing them finally work together as equals, and I'm really sad that we lost that so quickly. I'm glad you liked this.
