[The feed hisses briefly as it comes to life and for a moment all that fills the screen is...well, the ocean above and a soft glow around the edges due to the thing not too far away from the owner of the device. Several seconds pass before these are replaced by the face and shoulders of a certain general. One rather confused and wet General at that

Then you gotta tell me where you are, buddy. And sure. You're in Vatheon, an upside down reverse fishbowl between worlds. Also, how come no one ever introduces themselves anymore?

Generally if you desire to know someone else's name, you introduce yourself as well. My name is Sephiroth, General, First Class SOLDIER.
As for my location, there appears to be a massive glowing coral behind me if that helps you any. Do you have any information as to how I ended up in Vatheon? Or even as to why I find myself here?

Oh! [He perks up.] That's Lamufao! It's a god. Or something. I'll be there soon, and we can talk then.

[He gives the coral a brief glance over one armored shoulder.] I see. I'll be waiting then.

...Food makes everything better, okay.]
Hey there! 'Roth!

Hello, Lea. I would appreciate it if you would use my full name.

[Just. Handing over the towel.]
Anyway, Welcome to Vatheon, enjoy your stay, and ignore the random occurences of people appearing and disappearing. That kind of happens, and I don't think anyone can really... predict it.

Quite a greeting. Just what else can I expect out of this place beyond people getting dragged here against their will and vanishing the same way I suspect?

Well, every once in a while, strange things called 'curses' happen. Sometimes they're not that big a deal, and sometimes they're... bad. [Yes, his tone darkens. No, he's not over the last curse.] For example, one curse way before I was here apparently had rubber duckies raining down on the city. During another curse, you might have had your thoughts following you around in a weird little bubble.

How is it possible for things like that to occur? And how often is 'every once in a while'? [He really didn't care for the sound of the last, his thoughts are for him alone and not for public viewing.]

No one really knows. Maybe it's something Lamufao does to test or mess with people- he's the local god guy. Maybe it might even be a side effect of us being here. While we're needed to keep the barrier up, we might also be doing lots of other weird stuff.
But no one really knows, and the locals aren't talking.

We're needed to keep the barrier up?

If I had to guess, it's probably an imperfect system, or needs a constant change- like watermills- to properly work right, which would explain why people appear and disappear from here.

Just how, if I might ask, are we responsible for keeping the barrier up? Do you know?
