For anyone who tried to email me this morning...
... your email to me probably bounced back to you. My Internet access was interrupted because I was late paying my Comcast bill! Now, I had a short waking dream about this very thing, where I went to my computer and found out that I couldn't get on the Internet. I called Comcast (in the dream) and said something like, "You know, this is really a bad time for you to turn off my Internet access, since today's my birthday." The Customer Service Rep then said (sarcastically), "Well, happy birthday." Lovely.
In real life, I found out that, sure enough, I had no 'net access. I then went and paid my bill, after which my service was turned back on (two hours later, instead of 40 minutes later as I was originally told). But hey, everything's cool now. :) Oh, and both the CSR and the cashier wished me a happy birthday, and not at all sarcastically either!
I then went to Microsoft to do that Usability Study about bloggers I had mentioned in my LJ last week. It was fun, but other than the fact that it was about bloggers, I'm sworn to secrecy about what took place during the study.
When I got back to Seattle, I noticed I had a few minutes before my bus was to come, so I stopped into a Starbucks, where I ordered a slice of pumpkin nut bread. The clerk asked if I wanted anything to drink, and I said "no" -- at first. Then, as I showed them my I.D., I whispered, "Oh, by the way, today's my birthday." So the clerk asked again if I wanted anything to drink. I ordered a Venti Soy Chai, and only had to pay for the pumpkin nut bread. :)
