In the past few weeks I've been mostly wrapped up in work related affairs. With the project I'm part of reaching the development and testing stage more and more of my time is consumed by writing test plans and executing them subsequently. In between a reasonable amount of my colleagues at CESR has left or is leaving soon....luckily I've managed to keep in touch with them so far. Leander is in Laos and Marion back at the French authority, so far I am still in control. Now to see if I can stay in contact with Elena, who is going back to Madrid and Geraldine who is going back to London. That would make for some nice city trips in the future when I'm back in the good 'ole .nl
One of the things that has proven most difficult so far is to actually create a group of friends outside the colleagues in the office that are actually French. Most options you find on the internet are for expats seeking contact with...well mostly other expats. I strive for more than that, getting to know other people who, just like me, are here as expats is one thing. Getting to know the French, and especially the Parisiens is a challenge of an entirely different proportion. With half a year left I should be able to achieve something. Especially since I now have one French person that I consider a friend. Now I have to get her to introduce me to her friends and then the real work begins....wish me bonne chance...I'll need it ;)
