Important note for this past weekend: I bought a new laptop since my old one died two weeks ago. I am very pleased with it so far. It’s a bit larger than the old one was, but it is very nice to both look at and it is quite fast. For the geeks amongst my readers: it’s a Sony Vaio NS11 Z/S
Soooooo… last weekend I was in Amsterdam….after not having been there for almost four months it felt very good to be back home again. Thanks go out to Dennis for kindly offering me his couch to sleep on. It was good to wake up to the sounds of Amsterdam (meaning mainly the tram and people biking and ringing their bell).
In the time I was in the Netherlands I visited the AFM, checking in with my employer and catching up with a whole lot of colleagues and friends I had not spoken to in a while.
I had dinner and drinks with Esther and Dennis on Friday, eating the good food at Bayrouth on the Kinkerstraat. On Saturday I checked out Remco, the guy who was renting my place in Zaandam. Everything was in perfect working order, I did not expect anything different, but as a formality it’s nice to see that everything I left in Zaandam is still there and working properly. Saturday evening was for drinks with Dennis and Eva and afterwards food at the Burgermeester on the Elandsgracht. Topped off with Inside Man…a good film, but I sometimes was more into absorbing the atmosphere of Dennis’ couch….tired from running around I guess. Sunday I did two raids in WoW with Dennis, had lunch with Peter and Emiel and paid a visit to the SR gaming group who were at Eva’s place…I miss that game…A LOT.
Now back in Paris, in somewhat sunny weather writing testing plans for all European financial authorities, it’s tough, but interesting work. Anyway…back to work, more news later (not to mention the backlog on writing LJ entries….)
