I now know what it means to live in a 19th century building. I cause a leakage on the second floor and my upstairs neighbours are leaking down to my floor. On top of that my washing machine broke down last weekend. All of this together means I have upstairs neighbours that act as if nothing is happening, downstairs neighbours complaining about a leak and a washing machine that will not open anymore. My neighbour next door is having a karaoke party every weekend, next to my bedroom and my upstairs neighbours (them again) are....how shall I put this.....very happy to see each other at the end of almost every day (believe me that, although funny for the first week or so, it gets kind of annoying after a while).
That's it on my 19th century apartment. In other news I will be off to Frankfurt for Friday and the weekend to visit the German regulator and visit the premises they hired for a seminar I'm organising. The weekend will be used to visit Frankfurt itself. I've never been there, I have been warned by most of my colleagues that the city itself will not have that much to offer. Regretfully Jan will not be in town since he will celebrate his B'day in Prague (just my talent for picking that one weekend of the year...) So it's just li'l ole me versus a city full of Germans this weekend.
Next week you'll know if I survived...
