The Veritable Shiz -PART FOUR-i collect fashion blogs so you don't have to

May 09, 2009 10:15

Hello there it's been a while! I apologise again, i do love doing this blog but my last couple of months of university have been very intense! Let's get on shall we?! I have had to drop http://www.japanesestreets.com , it does not update often enough for me to get material for this blog so i have moved onto to http://www.dropsnap.jp/pc/snap.php (thanks to
candy_influence
for suggesting this site) Dropsnap has more than enough material for me to show you, also it has taken the place of http://livej.maruione.jp/content/blogcategory/1/7/lang,en/. Surprisingly the wonderful maruione website doesn't appear to have a street snap section anymore. Does any one have any information on this? However dropsnap is pretty good, it encompases lolita, spank!, antique, decora as well as every other sort of creative dressing so it should fill the gap nicely. I'm still gathering pictures from the ever popular http://facehunter.blogspot.com/
and the firm favourite www.hel-looks.com. Also http://stylescout.blogspot.com are going up in the world and i shall still be keeping an eye on them. So onto the street we go starting with dropsnap.

dropsnap-06-04-09 four
i love hold "old-timey" this outfit is, it kind of reminds me of little house on the prarie which makes me think this look is part of the style that lolita stemmed from called " pink house"i like how it's almost grannyish but she makes it look young

dropsnap-06-04-09 six
i like this little update on the schoolgirl look.it's nice an simple an not too obvious, also those pompoms on her socks are 3D!

dropsnap-06-04-09 three
this is one of my favourite looks in this post.again it seems remniscent of a pink house look, i like how her bag, hat an shoes are all brown but don't break up the white too much

dropsnap-06-04-09 two
i like this one because it's like relaxed tailoring.i like how the lapels of her jacket match her trousers and how she still looks smart without confining herself to normal suit.

dropsnap-06-04-09 five
this is my favourite coordinate for a long time. This is part of the "antique style" i'd like to try out myself one day. it's just so thouroughly strange and that's why i love it!

dropsnap-06-04-09
in this one i like how it feels almost nautical because of her stripy top an the boater hat but the corset takes you back to a time when people would actually go boating.

dropsnap-05-04-09 two
this is a dressed down spank! look which you don't see in the blogs too often.ilike how her outfit is made by it's smaller details, like the bow on her cardigan and her spotty socks, an the design on her bag.

dropsnap-05-04-09
i'm on the lookout for the perfect waistbelt as i simply cannot find one i like, however this girl..well she has my belt! I like how it's all girly with pastels an then she has the black belt and black boots to beef up the outfit.

dropsnap-04-04-09
how could i not post this girl, she's just so cute.i love the shapelessness of this dress an the mixed patterns of dots, almost scaley tights an shiney shiney shoes.
onto facehunter

facehunter-BERLIN - fashion week aw 09, day 3&4, 01.31.09-02.01.09
so this is echoingmy love for top heavy outfits. also (you might have to tilt your screen toget this to  show up) her coat has two rather different textures which i think is rather interesting n  such a dark piece.

facehunter-COPENHAGEN - fashion week aw 09, bonus
so i like this girl because of her bold colours! it's nice to see some colour in warmer outfits, also that neck piece is rather interesting

facehunter-COPENHAGEN - fashion week aw 09, day 1, 02.04.09
i like ths one because it almost seems a bit slapdash. it's very simple for my usual taste but i think she makes it work, she stps the fur coat becoming too overpowering with her crazy little purse an short hair cut

facehunter-COPENHAGEN - fashion week aw 09, day 4, 02.07.09
now this guy i like because he just looks like a musician would look like in my dreams, with fancy neckties, beautiful embroidered jackets an killer shoes!

facehunter-COPENHAGEN - on the street, nørreport & nørrebro, 02.08-09.09
i think i posted this almost entirely because she's one of the few in facehunters archives i've found that seems to smilig whole heartedly. also she's making the leggings as trousers thing work, an come one that never really works.

facehunter-LONDON - brick lane market, 02.15.09
top heavy outfits, what can i say, i love them so much an this is a lovely example. that coat is lovely and i like the scarf as a hood look for just alittle bit of colour

facehunter-LONDON - brick lane market, 03.01.09
there is almost a mishmash of shades of colours going on here but they're all so muted she makes them work. also i'm sucker for a pretty fur stole.

facehunter-LONDON - brick lane market, 03.22.09
now this one i like for all the shales going on in her outfit. the circle sequins on those leggins (which i need in my life) to the free feeling ruffles of her shirt to the fringes on her bag, i just think the overall look is very interesting.

facehunter-LONDON - fashion week aw 09, bonus
i liek the simplicity of the black an white dress. I so like a good shapeless dress an this is so smart at the same time

facehunter-LONDON - fashion week aw 09, bonus two
this is more my style, i like the kitschiess of it all an how it's restructured with the blazer an the brogues

facehunter-LONDON - fashion week aw 09, day 1, 02.20.09
a simple almost boring one but i like it, i liek the contrasting greys

facehunter-LONDON - fashion week aw 09, day 2, 02.21.09
so we've seen school girl but we don't often get school boy looks! i like how different this is and how the creepers make the whole outit more strong.

facehunter-LONDON - marylebone & brick lane, 02.28.09
it's the stripes, fantastic contrast here between the tights and her scarf an the dress.i liek how it's a fairly limited colour palet but she's made it very cute indeed (also note the tiny fringes on her t-bar strap shoes)

facehunter-LONDON - soho, 02.11.09
ok so i'm posting this because i thnk i've seen this guy around london (brick lane area if you're interested) i swear all his clothes are bought to more or less match his bike

facehunter-PARIS - fashion week aw 09.10 prêt-à-porter, day 1, 03.04.09
i like the rigidity of this outfit. there's no letting up anywhere from her fringe to her dangerous looking shoes she means business!

facehunter-PARIS - fashion week aw 09.10 prêt-à-porter, day 2, 03.05.09
another simple shapeless bag dress look that  i couldn't resist, also i think those are moccasins an i'm still flying the moccasin flag!

facehunter-PARIS - fashion week aw 09.10 prêt-à-porter, day 2, 03.05.09 two
so check out the shapes going on here!from the pointy shoulders of her jackert, to the skirts which looks like it's made out of layered straps of fabric, to those boots with the strange calf padding. This outfit is so interesting and works brilliantly.

facehunter-PARIS - fashion week aw 09.10 prêt-à-porter, day 4, 03.07.09
i promise to try an avoid posting susie bubble in every post. She puts things together in such a crazy way though, an  adore it. I love how her jacket has massive bubble effect sleeves an her legwarmers have tiny bubble type things on them. she looks like something from the sea.

facehunter-PARIS - fashion week aw 09.10 prêt-à-porter, day 5, 03.08.09
i picked this one because i think it's a nice city look. It's sophisticated but still fun.
Hel-looks

hel-looks maria
i like the natural feel of this one, an those tights are amazing!

hel-looks-heidi
yet more amazing tights!i like how it doesn't really altogether go but somehow the coat i think manages to play down the brighter colours.

hel-looks-janine
helsinki must be full of amazing tights shops! i like how her whole outfit is pretty much a poncho, an she makes a poncho look sophisticated and girly instead of dowdy.

hel-looks-lassi
this is an interesting look on a guy,hte coat has an interesting shape that i've not seen before.

hel-looks-sohvi aniina
i wouldn't normally post something like this, it's a bit too "scene kid trying to be japanese" for me, however i think they have made the bright colours work nicely, it's not as garish as most outfits in this sort of area, the darker parts of the outfit help to balance the coordinates out.
and finally style scout-these pics are huge sorry :(

style scout-21.2.09
susie again yes....look at that frilly bag!i need it in my life now! i love the shapes in this dress, it almost feels like it's being worn upside down.an i think i'll forever be lusting after a yokoo chain scarf.

style scout-18.3.09
i like this one because it's almost like the light reflecting off the wide flat sequins coordinates with the white shoes.

 style scout-23.2.09
this girl's hairclips are mirroring some designer but i can't remember for the life of me who they are.either way it's an interesting look an i think it works nicely to get some colour into this coordinate.

style scout-4.4.09
structured animal prints aren't someting i thought i would ever see done nicely but this is wonderful. i love the flash of colour on the zebra waistcoat, the gold necktie works nicely with the goldbrown tone of the shoes an jacket, an it just seems really sharp.

next blog should be waaay more quick next time as uni is finally grinding to a hault, so bare with me readers :)
