I am having trouble keeping up with my weekly assignments for class. It's not that I don't have the time. I simply don't feel compelled to keep up with them. Take for instance my assignment for my British poetry course; I was charged with reading 25 pages worth of William Butler Yeats for this week. Upon starting the assignment, I realized how very little I cared for the Irish poet. I tried and tried to finish the weekly readings, but couldn't seem to find any desire to do so. By the time I finished his fifth poem, I resigned myself to reading Virginia Wolf (who happens to be the next author in the anthology that contains Yeats's poetry). Once I finished her collection of short stories, I retired to my bed, feeling completely prepared for the next day’s poetry class.
