059. calendar: ee teuk/ee teuk
ee teuk's time is running out, he thinks. facing the wall, facing the wall and counting. one, two, three, four... some days he can remember the rest of the numbers, other days he can't. he marks down all the days he counts on his little puppy calendar (shi won... ryeo wook? got it for him, he was always so nice- such a nice boy) in bright red ink so he won't forget to remember what he can't forget.
"my name is ee teuk."
"your name is jung su."
"i want to be ee teuk. i am forever ee teuk," and he screams until he can't scream anymore, until his lungs break apart and his brain is replaced with time.
tick, tick, tick.
he has to write this day down.
ee teuk requests a mirror, putting it up above his bed so he can look at ee teuk. he wonders if ee teuk has always been there as he traces over the cold skin of ee teuk's cheeks, touching his eyes and feeling something as hard as stone. ee teuk doesn't blink. ee teuk looks cold and lonely, ee teuk needs to eat. he feeds ee teuk his portions of food that he sneaks out of the cafeteria so stealthily, watching angrily as the rice slides down the front of ee teuk's chest.
"why won't you eat, i'm giving you my food. i escaped with it and no one knew. stop crying!" he screams at the mirror, tears salty against his cheeks as he tries to wipe them off of the glass. "get those off of your face, they aren't pretty!"
the next day, the ee teuk trapped inside of the mirror gets taken away from ee teuk and ee teuk cries, looking at the bandages on his hands. he didn't mean to hit ee teuk, he didn't mean to scare him away- he just wanted to help him get out. he looks at his puppy calendar and slides it underneath the bed. he doesn't want to remember this day, he doesn't want to remember losing ee teuk.
ee teuk's time is running out.
