... So, that's what it is. You're in the Digital World, and I'm thankful for that, overall. Now, we'd best actually get you thinking about how you ( Read more... )

Well, it probably depends on the specific myths of your world, but loosely, yes!

I mean, so far it seems like every world people came here from is different. Tell me, what about the Digital World were you studying when you wound up here?

I... wasn't studying anything about the Digital World. For me it was some... dumb ass weird as hell kids anime from Japan back in the 90's. Like hell I thought it was real before coming here.

And yet now it seems that we're caught in said "weird as hell kid's anime" as our laws of physics. Strange, huh?

Hey, ya callin' me weird?!

Leave the lad alone. He means well enough.

Not as strange as some of the stuff I've been involved in. Ranks up there, though. Way up there.

Giant robots. That turn in to cars. Some of the tried to destroy my world. Twice.

I died once, too.

Most college students just have to worry about trying to score a date and pass by the skin of their teeth. Me? No, no... I get intergalactic wars and Cybertroian hieroglyphs downloaded in to my brain.

... Wait, if you died, and you're standing here...

How'd you pull that? Only way I know of to manage it involves demon lords and nasty side effects. Like forgetting about the giant robots that turn into cars.

Then... How?

To be perfectly honest, I really can't explain it. Just can't. It's like... I remember everything being black for a bit, then the Seven Primes were telling me I had the power to stop everything, and then... my girlfriend was screaming at me and I was in a lot of pain.

... The power to...

Huh.

Well, okay, not 'stop'. That's a little too general. But I was able to help keep the world from ending for the moment.

... Ah, so you became the hero of the day... Somehow or other.

That happens to me a lot more than you'd think, actually.

So in other words, this dimension is likely to simply pick interesting people, like heroes, crazy-powerful researchers, and the like.

In other words, I need to brush up my resume if I'm going to be hirable.
