FANART LOVE MEME

How much do I love the new 'edit comment' feature that LJ's sporting? Thos Thsi Tihs much. XDAlso, I feel like a total wretched cad for my last post. Hey Glock, let's see how sad and unhappy you can make people about their art! It isn't enough for artists to beat themselves up constantly over their art skills, I think it'll be better to create a ( Read more... )

Of course, I'll go first because I'm vain, it'll encourage others.

I love my art! I do; it hasn't let me down so far and I love that it's given me a passion to notice and observe things IRL that non-artists might not even see.

I love that I have a mad need to learn and incorporate techniques and people's ideas and styles into my art. I love that I prefer using other people's ideas to draw from; that attitude guarantees that I can make my art into my profession.

Also, I love that people love the way I draw. I really, really, REALLY do. It makes me think I'm doing something right. Hurrah!

I love how there's no other artist's work that looks like yours. You embrace your 'style' and I respect that above all else.

You have a magic of expression and your style only enhances it.

The biggest thing I love about your art is that you use a lot of traditional media (ie. watercolours!) when creating. A lot of art these days is coloured (and sometimes drawn) solely in Photoshop or a program akin to it. That isn't knocking digital media, but it's so nice and REFRESHING to see people still using traditional media for their colours.

Furthermore, I love the uniqueness of your art. It's easy to "pick out a Glock" from a row of pictures, which makes your art neat and unique!

I love that your style has evolved in the few years I've been in fandom. I love that you've incorporated so much more into it than you were before.

I also love your harry and his expression. I think you capture his personality in his face. :D

Lets see, where to begin ...

Your art always has your signature stamp, even in anime, it looks like your interpretation of a set of characters, not a sort of anon - anyone could have drawn this - if that makes sense.

You have atmosphere and mood in your drawings, and a great ability to put a lot of detail in settings without overwhelming the characters.

Your work is narrative, you always think, ah, there is a story going on here I want to learn about, as opposed to say, nice pin up!

I love how you draw noses! And your watercoloring is so beautiful. I also love how you draw feet and hands and fabric.

Whatever you say about what you don't like, I adore your work. You and many other fanartists are responsible for so much inspiration for me as a crafting "artist".

Heck, I think I've been following your art since I first figured out what fan art was...

In addition to the distinctiveness of your style, I love the variety of your poses and the clarity of your expressions. There's so much emotion in your images--they never feel flat. It always feels like there's something going on!

I love how distinctive your stuff is. I love the looseness of it - not that it's unfinished looking, but that everyone looks fluid, like you have that enviable ability to capture things in mid motion only *better*, because art needs to be exagerated more than the standard photograph. I love love love how you draw hands and feet. I adore and envy your backgrounds and the texture and detail you put into things. I someday want to see a step by step breakdown of how you do watercolors because I love them so damned much.

I love seeing your art work. I've been an avid lurker and watcher for years. You style has grown and improved, and it always looks great. Every time I'm on lj I hope you've posted something new, seeing it makes my day.

I love the time a detail you put into the characters and their outfits, it gives them their personality and distinct style.

Can't wait to see more from you. <3

I love how fiercely stylistic your art is. I really admire people who have such a unique style that you can look at their stuff and from a mile away identify it as theirs. It's a sign that you've got something nobody else has! That's ROCKIN!

Also, you can just whip out drawings with flawless perspective/proportions without even needing a reference. I'm in awe of that. ♥

I love your art. Simply put you are my fave fan artist. I love my trio art you did. I have it framed in my computer room and see it everyday.

Your style and your colors always make me smile and just adore.

I'm going to say the way you mix colors. I think the best thing you can say, well I can say about an artist is that their art inspires me to do better. Yours inspired me to be bolder with my attempts at coloring and to not be such a pussy and used mixed medias [as in not JUST photoshop] as traditional methods can be dead sexy. Like yours always are.

I love your art for so many reasons, massive technical and natural skills aside, your use of color is masterful and while your style is illustrative it's not "Disney" or "comic booky" or "anime-y" it's original and collaborative. Your use of color and line is amazing and I seriously envy your skill keep all of your characters tightly drawn and a part of the image no matter how many of them there are. I like that you don't draw just one character or fandom. You definitely have the wide range of skills, flexibility and expertise for professional work. I always enjoy your images!

You're ridiculously prolific. I think I admire that more than anything else, because I've known you a pretty damned long time, and I see how much you've improved over time. You've become a really amazing artist, and I definitely sit in constant awe of you. I wish I had the dedication to stick with it like you do.

I love your completely distinct style of drawing- I can tell that a picture is yours (inked, sketched, coloured, everything) just at first glance! Also, the vivid colors you use for almost every drawing are ♥ (especially when you draw the Weasleys!)
