end of 2008

Random year end thoughts:

* arbitrary bailouts will do more harm than good.
better to invest in new technologies and industries
than prop up outmoded unions and businesses that
other countries have clear competitive advantages.

* tax increases have never been effective solutions.
prudent budgeting, incentives for business, promoting
competition -- all good things.

* the halo on Obama can't last long. while the left
suddenly wants to show respect for the President,
people forget the "Fuck Bush" and "Kill Bush"
merchandise that surfaced the past two years. if
you're going to protect the Office of the President,
protect it even when it is not in vogue to protect it.

* lessons learned in California via Propositions:
majority rules when it is convenient; minority rules
when there is "injustice." and oh, it's okay to
vandalize Mormons & Catholics, but not religious African-
Americans. double-standards galore. wow.
