Pacquiao and Too Many Shows

Jun 10, 2012 00:03

Today went on practically forever. For the entire day at the Moore, there were dance recital shows. At 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and 8pm a two and a half hour performance began. I was there for three out of four of them and sitting around that long was exhausting. And of course the entire crowd was parents and family members there to watch their little girls dancing. As "fun" as that sounds, it wasn't really.

As if that weren't enough punishment, I went back the the Paramount after, prepped everything for tomorrow's matinee, then found out Manny lost to Tim Bradley in a split decision. The buzz around the interwebs sounds pretty unanimous, with most people agreeing Manny was the winner and boxing as a whole is completely corrupt and worthless. I haven't had a chance to watch the fight yet, but as soon as it goes up on HBO streaming I will. Until then, it will remain the buzz for a few days I'm sure. At least a couple people on my Facebook list were more than a little disgusted with the results.

Tomorrow is the closing day of American Idiot and only my second day with the show. After that, no more Broadway shows for several months. And once we get through June, with the Shear Madness nonsense, things should calm down for at least a short time. And maybe summer will arrive and stay.
