It's Official and Can Be Publicly Discussed

My background check came up clean today, making me an official employee of Tickets.com. My first day will be July 15th leaving next week as my final week as a show supervisor. Some people find leaving some jobs bittersweet. I feel no remorse or pangs of nostalgia whatsoever. I'll continue to work with most of the people who are already my coworkers but will give up all the things I found so unpleasant about the job. I'll obviously be taking on new unpleasantries but I'm ready and willing (before anything has happened, of course).

As we do on all days before a holiday, we closed up early today at work. The next day I have to work is Tuesday so in a way I'm getting a decent little vacation before starting the new job. I went from having no plans to getting invited out to camp at a lake a couple hours away with a friend. I'm also dog sitting Stella while Eric and Angela are in Michigan, starting today. Stella and I are road tripping tomorrow.

Happy Independence Day everybody. Go do something fun! Enjoy the weather, see some friends, do something active. That's my plan and I'm more than ready for it (though I don't feel like I'm dying for a vacation because for the past month I've done almost nothing at work).
