New Computer

I've had the same computer at work since I started there almost four years ago. It was new when I began and I hadn't given it much thought, but I guess it's gotten pretty slow over the years, as Windows machines always do. Our IT guy has had a new machine sitting in his office for me for months now but it's always too busy for us to set it up. Everything I do at work is dependent on a computer and the ticketing software I have to use never seems to work right. Any small alteration and everything stops working. Combining that with a busy Broadway week is a recipe for disaster I've preferred to prevent.

The new computer has a bigger, prettier screen than the old one. Thanks to Apple everyone else has had to up their design efforts and this new monitor looks like a giant iPad (it's a Dell). Getting everything set up took a big chunk of the afternoon and prevented me from finishing up work I had been working on. Instead I had coffee with J-ro because Steven was out sick and I needed to walk away while the computer chugged through a data dump.

Tonight was another silent movie (that I haven't seen and didn't stay to watch). As soon as I could, I headed home. There was an incident on the University Bridge (I can't find any news about it) that rerouted all the buses onto the highway. For me that was far more convenient than the usual evening route because it ran express and I got home fast.

I met Barry at the gym where we did a chest and triceps day. We both pushed pretty hard and will be sore for the next couple days. I know, I know, I say that all the time. It's better doing bench presses when there's someone else to spot you. Tomorrow's another show night followed by an unusual Wednesday off work.
